Yum! Daughter said we HAVE TO try these dumplings. Her best friend from grade school was Chinese and her
Grandmother made these and she said these tasted just like hers!!
Very authentic tasty and soooo cheap!?
1.50 for the chicken and 1.75 for the BBQ pork. We unanimously preferred the chicken.
If you are in San Fran and want affordable authentic dumplings stop here -

It's a place for takeaway sui Mai , dumplings and massive steamed buns. The items here are big and cheap. But last time I was here they didn't seem to have the best quality

***THIS IS SOLELY FOR THE MANTOUS****
Coming to Chinatown, you have to literally walk for your food. Literally. Each store has their own specialty. For this store it's their mantous.
For those of you who haven't had a one before, it feel like biting into a pillowy cloud. Super soft in texture, light, and sweetened ever so slightly. These are actually one of my favorite buns, it's super simple, but delicious at the same time (Don't expect to get full off these though, it's great for a mini snack).
I highly recommend getting the mantou buns from here, super soft, moist and delish! -

YUP. Best Man Tou EVER.
Yes, this hole in the wall store is not the cleanest. Customer service isn't really the best, but just get a few of the regular Man tou buns, a couple of steamed pork buns, and enjoy devouring it on their standing counter space. When I ordered, they took fresh buns from the steamer and not the ones that have been sitting out. So as you can imagine, that melted in mouth quick... I had to order a couple more. The next day, I even heated up some left overs with a moist towel in the microwave and it was just like eating it fresh again. Get the wheat one just for the sake of trying... but the regular Man Tou is the best. Smooth, silky, slightly sweet, warm, and melts in your mouth.
Idk what the fuss is about the pricing here... but we ate a handful in the store, and took an entire bag to go and we shelled out less than $8. No complaints. Not sure, but I'm positive this place is CASH ONLY? -

Best man tou ever! Man tou are plain buns that are slightly sweet, but they make it so smooth and silky than man tou in other stores. I just peel them strip by strip when I eat them. I always have to stop by here when I go to San Francisco Chinatown.
The reason for 4 stars is because of the service and store. It looks old and dirty, and the lady isn't very nice. So a heads up for people that want to come here. Just get the man tou and go! Worth it.
